i am happy! with some interesting updates (ULTRA SUPER LONG!)
transition was smooth although there was a little hic-ups along the way. initially i was sad to be alone, those that i wanted to see in the new workplace had either transfered out or resigned. =( but the longer i stay in this new place, the better a got to know some people and the happier i got. =)
some interesting 'hic-ups'...
the curse of the red ants!
---------------------------
1 day during work, one attention seek auntie commented this "when i am at home they bully me, now here...the nurses bully me". my heart shattered into pieces! i had been attending to her almost everytime she called. and the worse thing is that she know who to call, those nicer ones. (that's me and a few others =P) she is so attention seeking that i fear she can't manage on her own once discharge. so i insisted that she do things independently with me watching her nearby. it was a congitive behaviour therapy of such. everyone of the staff was doing the same to her so that she knows that is what she ought to do. nobody gave in to her whimps. it was all for her own good! but... but... she said that!!! *pull hair* i was really sad.
after that comment she stared at me real hard. i thought she must be cursing me insider her heart! well...still upset over what she said to me, i went off duty. met Bao dajie and i told her i was sad. we went for coffee nearby then.... while on the way to the coffeeshop, out of nowhere a red ant bite me and i let go of my bag. and gosh!! there were lots of red ants crawling on my bag and some on me already! Bao dajie help to brush those ants off me and then those on the bag. she had been analysed where those red ants must had came from and conclusion was that i must be brush against somethings and caught the ants from there. haha... and i jokely said "maybe its the curse of that old auntie!".
after that day incident, u will think that the auntie would hate me to the core right? but NO!!! the next day, when she saw me in the morning... her immediate respond was "MISSY!! MISSY!!!" should i be happy or not??! o_O?? happy that she didn't hate me, unhappy that i have to attend to her again? well... long long story cut short, her relative got to know of her behaviour and reprimanded her. of course, like of every case, patient discharge-> close case -> every complaint, praise and heartache went into archive. =)
blood-sucker wannabe
---------------------
i am always a very keen and fast learner in school so during practical lessons i would normally be parking 1 corner with a bunch of friends talking. we may seems lazy but we always know our stuff. we may seems talking shit but actually we are discussing about the procedure learnt. blood taking was something briefly taught through during lesson. we had no actual practice on real patients as only staff nurses who had been through a certain course can do it. so here i am a staff nurse who had been through the course and equiped with the knowledge. the expectation of my seniors were that i should be able to draw blood for patients! my... my... i was so so scare! but after the inital few times under supervision and coaching from the experts...heehee... i found myself enjoying taking blood! haha... =P
the sense of achievement when i see the 'flashback' (if u draw blood too, u know what i meant =P ) and the bloodtube filling up... oh oh... i felt that i had learnt well and gosh... i am so proud of myself! just the simple act of taking 1 blood successfully can make me happy for the entire day!!! =) nowadays whenever i am on morn, i would ask "any bloods to take?" ;)
