everlasting regret- my view?!
i just watch the VCD of everlasting regret. i was so filled with anticipation wanting to see how Sammi Cheng will fare in this movie and how the plot will be. the main reason is because i am a great fan of Sammi Cheng and of cuz... there had been too much news surrounding this movie. from the illness that Sammi was suffering prior the film to the critics on Sammi's terrible acting and also stories of how great the plot will be.
the story in my view is not very strong and the way it move... SLOW. ironic enough i think watching the show is indeed an everlasting regret. the only 2 persons that i felt in love with are Hu Jun (the one acted as Officer Li) and Su Yan (acted as LiLi). they can really act, the expression and the way they carry themselve in body and verbal language is simply super. i felt that the show had 'stained' Sammi's attempt to make it big as a serious actress. not that the show is bad but i just thot she ought to had taken a less 'serious' role. if Sammi had traded role with Su Yan, things will look better. i wonder having Tony Leung and Sammi Cheng in the show could it be just a marketing gimmick? to increase the viewership drawn from these 2 BIG names?!
Tong Leung, the world most sexy chinese man?! nah... i totally flip! in my view Hu Jun is at least 2x more sexy than Tony Leung. Hu Jun is taller and more 'man'. Tony Leung gives me the feeling of a SNAG trying to be macho. err... cut that crap please, maybe its time to step aside and let life be just simple???
since on the topic of Hu Jun... a friend and i was just talking of movies, vcds, tv series and all and she told me that she went to watch Hu Jun's "Lan Yu". its a show about a gay lovers' relationship in China. it was banned in SG many year ago and only recently did the censor board lifted its ban and finally the movie dated 2001 is screening in SG 2005! it had been almost 1 week since she saw the show in Lido. i hope its since on so i can go and watch it too. the plot of that show from the way K told me seems really good! i must watch to confirm. =)

the other 'pink' show that i am going to watch next week is 'Saving Face' its abt lesbians. although i don't agree with the lifestyle of these people, i do really want to know more to understand. but basically i think movies with such themes are done in a rather tastful and arty manner. hmm... so much for it now.
