the death of a washer
my washing machine had been died for the past 72 hours. and since then i had been battling the cold weather, washing the clothes with my bare hands. (some making of a tragic movie opening) haha... sad as it may sound but the saddest person should be my hubby cuz i am really slow in washing (most of his work pants are still soaking in the pail!) and i think the clothes are only 1/2 cleaned! washer cleans better. me? i scrub scrub here, scrub scrub there and then...done! hopefully none of us develop rashes after wearing the clothes i washed! =P
living on your own is fun but it comes with sacrifices! and its these sacrifices that i think that means time to get use to. hmm...

hey buddy!
when i was in Oz, and needed to handwash my new/ delicate clothes, I do not even scrub them! I did not have a scrub to begin with! What I did was to 'rub' the clothes, soak them overnight with fav detergent. Then rub somemore. Run then under clean running water and done!
In your case, perhaps, we can try soak, scrub, soak, rinse, wring and done! In my opinion, as long as you rinse the detergent out from the clothes, there shouldn't be a prob with rashes. Detergents these days are very strong. There was once I had my pants stained with women's stuff ( it was rather a big patch), I soaked the pants and inner wear into a pail of detergent water and then went for a hot shower. When I came out of the shower, most of the stains were already off the pants!
When scrubbing expensive/ fav clothes, I usually turn them inside out so as to preserve the colour and prevent cotton balls.
2 cents worth
