Mad Hot Ballroom - movie (documentary)

went to watch this movie (documentary) "Mad Hot Ballroom" since it was opened on 9th March, i reckon it will screen down soon so i rushed to watched it. the entire theater was filled with only 10-14 people! maybe it is a weekday, afternoon, so the people in the theater were so little. there were mainly the retirees and a few middle aged. and yes... i grouped myself as the middle aged.

the show is about the New York kids going through some dance training and eventually going on a dance competition. hmm... this morning Yes-FM93.3 did mention it on air. so mainly that was what it was all about and viewers can expected to see lots of nature expressions on the kids...blah blah blah...

my take on the documentary....
lots of the kids are hispanic and as we know people of that race/ethnic group tends to have lots of problem with crimes and drugs. during the interviews with the different kids, i am so amazed how mature the 11 yrs old are! the girls especially! they were talking about how kids get into bad company, do drugs and all. then they talk about themselves. its interesting to see the world from a semi-adult. they are so mature yet ...not so mature... oh! what a age!

i felt myself being involved in the development of those kids. when they cried, i wept too. (somehow... my tearducts had regained its function again...since last sunday. but that's a entry in my personal journal. ;p ) i did not only cry when the kids lost, i wept again when the kids won. you must be wondering how can the kids lost and win at the same time?! well...its different groups of kid mah...

the dancing is very good!!! i bet you, a 29 yrs old given only 10weeks of training may not be able to match their standard!! its great to be kid when the body is still so flexible and soft! wow... boy.... they can really move and grove, man!!!

i believe music and dancing is great therapy for kids who otherwise find it hard to express their emotion and vent their energy. yes... music and dance! hopefully MOE will
