passing on

couple of my friends had been blogging abt this topic. cuz recently there were lots of death cases. as a child i always wonder why is there so many occurance of wakes whenever it was lunar 7th month. there were 2 sayings- 1 because the spirits of the dead relatives will come and bring those they love/ have mercy along with them and the other saying will be because of all those smoke and bad weather during the lunar 7th month those that are very ill normally will not be able to take it thus have a higher risk of dying. so what is the real deal?

i have no idea and doesn't want to spectulate too. i see death as a celebration of life. weird hor? i am not sure how a dying person will feel and what he/she will see and be at ultimately. however nursing those really ill patient makes my heartache. it painful to see them suffer. in fact i was just talking to another friend of mine last week regarding some expectation of patient's family members on wanting the hospital to CURE the knowingly dying patient.

no matter how much the best Dr/ Prof can order to treat the patient, they are no God! ya, maybe the Drs can extend the life of the patient but won't it be equal to prolong their suffering? pple will argue that having an extra minute of breath will equal to another gimpse of hope. cuz who knows the next minute a new drug may hit the market and cure the illness. *sigh* really mah? i really doubt this sort of pet talks.

who can pledge that the so call new drug will have no side effects? and if the new drug is so wonderful, won't the price be that wonderful too? and will it be really so widely available? knowing the world as it is, such wonderful drugs will go 1st handed to those rich and powerful. when will it reach down to the normal civilians like u and me? err... maybe a few years or more? even if this wonderful new drug, in all its goodness - cheap and available- is made widely available to the poor. will u dare try it? hmm...
