still on the topic of the union fighting for the lower income workers and the 'jobless'. MOM had replied on the idea of cutting back on CPF contribution as not good cuz the workers may never get to own their flat apartments.
but if we are so very poor, are we really bothered if we live in an owned or rented flat? err... if you ask me that i will tell you that my immediate need will be money, money to put food on the table, money to keep my children in the school. rented or owned apartment doesn't make a different to me, as long as there is a roof over my head.
i grew up in a rented flat too, what is the problem with it? my parents were able to keep the family alive and eventually we did save enough to buy a flat.
the basic need of any human being is food, water, air and shelter. air is free so no debate on it. shelter not pre-determined as rented or bought so err... leave it at it lar huh? food and water both need money. no money to bring in food, the family eat what? no money to pay PUB, think they give us free water meh?
someone in the govt had once said that Singaporean must learnt to manage their $$, don't lock all our money on fix asset, must have liquid cash too. and he also mentioned that we must learnt to look into alternative, not everyone must own a house, renting is 1 alternative we can explore.
maybe can have 2 scheme that the worker themselves can choose for themselves? one with the worker contributing their 20% and one their contribution is lower? afterall how much longer can Mr Govt mother-hen all the people? but of cuz i am just a small fry that knows nuts of governing so maybe there are a lot more of things involved in this stuff... so err... let's just wait and see lar....
the big conspiracy theory however will put it in this manner.... the government wants everyone to own a flat apartment cuz they want the people's money. since not everyone can pay upfront 100% (those that can offer will not consider flat apartment anyway) then these people will become 'slave' to the country for the 'rest of their life'. these people will be force to stay in the country and spend their money paying up their installment for the apartment. by the time they have finish paying up, their flat will either be upgraded/ end-block that will means more money needed. blah blah blah... i guess eventually someone will be out there talking soon... who? i duno too. =P
