english?!

remember as a child i was made to memorise the present, past and past continuous or something. so for the word eat- the present tense is EAT and the past tense is ATE and the past continuous or whatever it is called is EATEN. (pls if u know the name of that last tense please correct me)

so i was telling my hubby that the 3 different tenses for the word swim are: swim swam sank (haha...). he was totally freak out and reprimanded me for my bad english. he went on saying "it should be swum right?" haha... being the habitual "smoker" i explained the reason for the string of words. present tense swim, correct right? past tense swam, still correct right? but if u had been swimming in the past and still is then u ought to have sank into the water already hor! my brothers who were in the car with us were laughing so hard that my hubby had to divert this crazy joke with an even stupider joke!

that is how our relationship maintain. =P out-doing each other with stupid jokes like this. hmm... pretty dumb right? maybe we should start talking about policities. haha...
